This past weekend, the GSM team had the opportunity to film with some great new tech toys. We are filming a corporate that has required some beautiful BC landscapes. Static camera shots are fine and all, but we wanted to find a way to introduce motion in new and innovative ways. I can’t think of any mode of transportation the combines motion and beautiful BC landscapes better than the West Coast Express!
So the plan was to mount a 25 LB RED epic camera on the front of the locomotive. Here’s a little clip we shot of some behind the scenes footage that day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy9QVlNSs2k&feature=youtu.be
In order to record HD video we needed to use an HD wireless transmitter and a remote. The transmitter we used was quite simply put – amazing! It’s made by Paralinx and transmits uncompressed 10-bit 422 HD video wirelessly. Considering the fact that those specs are rare for any cameras to record in onto a media card, it was great to be able to screen crisp for resolution HD footage from inside the train while it was moving. Stay tuned for some of that footage, and check out Paralinx for more info on their product line http://www.paralinx.net/
